The V-8 is the natural evolution of the legendary V-4 four-channel video mixer

DV quality video outputs with full digital processing
The internal processing of the V-8 is 4:2:2 full-frame digital. More than 500 lines of video resolution ensure very high image quality after digital processing and mixing.

Direct input of computer signal
The V-8 has a built-in scan converter, providing direct input of RGB signals (VGA - UXGA) from two D-Sub terminals on the rear panel. With the selector switch located on the top panel, you can select between two computer sources. Using the luminance key or chroma key, enables logos or text from your computer to be keyed over background video enabling the display of lyrics, bottom thirds, and announcements. Integrating computer graphics and visual applications with video sources has never been easier.

effects

New video filters and numerous transitions
All your favorite effects like colorize and negative are included, along with newly added effects like feedback, afterimage, emboss, find edge and more. Composite two images with Picture-in-Picture and Luminance or Chroma keying. Customize your transitions between the A and B bus with multiple flavors of simple mix, hard or soft wipes, and the all-new stretch and slide transitions.

Independent faders on each bus as well as master output
Faders are independently equipped for both A/B buses allowing you to create a video fade on just one bus or adjust the various video effects parameters. The master fader control is a slider bar enabling quick and intuitive operation while working on the fly.

Next generation V-LINK control enables audio-follow
The V-8 can be remote controlled from the PR series video presenters as well as the V-4. The V-8 can also send remote control signals to the new generation of Roland digital audio mixer, the M-400, M-380 or M-300 V-Mixer . The motorized faders of the M-400 automatically follow the video switching of the V-8. Now you can have your audio sources follow your video sources without the need to manually control two mixers at once.

questions about products
- The field of view of video images output from the OUT PUT terminal differs from those output from PREVIEW OUT or MONITOR OUT terminal.
Images are output from the OUT PUT terminal after internally converting the input analog signals into digital signals and the field of view information is not added to them. The field of view can vary depending on the display connected and/or its setting and you need to adjust the aspect ration of the I/O signals of the device connected to V-8.

- What is the difference between V-4 and V-8?
"V-8 is different from V-4 as follows: * The number of input channels increased from four to eight. * The VGA input terminal is provided to input video images output from a PC without a scan converter. * The MONITOR OUT terminal is provided for each input channel. * Types of switching effects (FAN, NAM) and video effects (feedback, etc) increased. * Separate faders are provided for channels A and B. * The operation knobs for the A/B effects and faders are sliders. * White and black switching is available for output fading. "

- When the INPUT SELECT button is used to switch the input, is the video image stable?
Images remain stable during normal switching operations. You can use the INPUT SELECT button to switch video images as you usually do with a switcher. However, when the T bar is not fully tilted toward the A or B side or you are using the superimposing effect and two input video images are superimposed, pressing the INPUT SELECT button may case the output video image to be unstable.
Did this help? Yes No
- Is the GENLOCK terminal provided?
"No. Because V-8 is equipped with frame synchronizers for both of the channels A and B, synchronization is maintained without inputting a GENLOCK signal. "
Did this help? Yes No
- Are cables and RCA-BNC conversion plugs supplied?
"Cables for connection with external devices are not supplied. Four RCA-BNC conversion plugs are supplied."
Did this help? Yes No
- When a video signal is input to both of the PC input terminal and INPUT8 terminal, which one will be output from the OUTPUT terminal?
Because the S-Video terminal input is given higher priority, the vide image input to the INPUT8 terminal will be output.
Did this help? Yes No
- Can the video images input to PC1 and PC2 be superimposed?
"No. One of the video images input to PC1 and PC2 is selected by the INPUT SELECT switch and output."
Did this help? Yes No
- Is the vide image output from the MONITOR OUT terminal same as the one input to one of the INPUT terminals 1 to 8?
Yes. The same video image is output from the MONITOR OUT terminal. By connecting the device to a TV set or monitor with a composite video terminal, the vide image input to each channel can be checked in real time. The video image input tot the PC input terminal is also output from the MONITOR OUT terminal as a composite signal.

- I am broadcasting a football game live. I have 4 cameras and 1 computer. I want to see all my cameras preview all the time on the preview monitor. Can this be done? Do I need to get a multiplexer? I was hoping for a preview multiscreen monitor.
"The V-8 offers a ""loop-thru"" on all its inputs. This will send composite video of each input to a monitor. You can either purchase discrete TV monitors for each input, or you can consider one of the rack-mount LCD minotors that are available from folks like Marshall at www.lcdracks.com. Alternatively, you can consider a ""quad screen"" box from a security camera system manufacturer. This will accept 4 video inputs (from your loop-thru´s) and output a quad-screen display to a standard TV monitor."
