questions about products
- What is DSK (downstream keyer)?
"When video merging and/or mixing is done at the upstream side and the key merging is done at the down stream side[virgula] the merging function at the downstream side is called ""downstream keyer"" (DSK). In general[virgula] logos and text are generated by DSK. This function allows you to keep a log or text displayed while switching videos or using the Picture-in-Picture display on the background."

- What is the difference between the PGM OUT terminal and A/B MIX OUT terminal?
"LVS-800 provides two types of output terminals[pvirgula] A/B MIX OUT terminal and PGM OUT terminal). The A/B MIX OUT terminal only outputs the result of switching between the bus A and bus B (A/B MIX). The PGM OUT terminal outputs the result of merging a logo or text with the result of A/B MIX. The final output fade is only available for PGM OUT."

- The field of view of videos output from the PGM OUT terminal differs from those output from MONITOR OUT?terminal.
"Input analog signals are output from the PGM PVW terminal or MONITOR OUT terminal as analog signals. However[virgula] videos output from the PGM OUT terminal are internally converted from the input analog signals into digital signals[virgula] and the field of view information is not added to them. The field of view can vary depending on the display connected and/or its setting and you need to adjust the aspect ratio of the I/O signals of the device connected to LVS-800."

- How long is input video delayed at the output?
1 to 1.5 frames for the A/B MIX output and 2 to 3 frames for the PGM OUT output.

"LVS-800 allows you to control switching operation and effects via the RS-232C terminal from an external controller such as a PC. You can: * Select the input channel for bus A and bus B. * Select the channel for the foreground an background for DSK. * Control the video fader. * Control other operations available on the panel."

- The t-bar doesn´t work. Doing transitions with the buttons still works. What are some steps we can take to troubleshoot this problem.
"Your T-bar may require calibrating. To do this[virgula] connect a TV monitor to the MONITOR OUT jack. - Power up the LVS-400 while holding down the MONITOR-1 and MONITOR-4 buttons. - The ""LVS-400 Test Menu"" will appear. - Use the MONITOR-2 or MONITOR-3 buttons to select 01:Tbar Set. - Press MONITOR-4 to enter 01:Tbar Set. - Move the Fader to the MAIN (bottom) bus and press the INPUT 1 button on the MAIN (bottom) bus. The MAIN value will be set. - Move the Fader to the INSERT (upper) bus and press the INPUT 1 button on the INSERT (upper) bus. The INSERT value will be set. - Press the MONITOR-1 and MONITOR-4 buttons to exit the Menu. Turn off the LVS-400 and restart normally. Your T-bar should now operate normally. ***Don not adjust any other parameters in the Test Menu[pvirgula] doing so can cause catastrophic failure to the LVS-400 and is not covered as a warranty failure!*** If calibrating does not solve the problem[virgula] please call us at your local RSG office for repair."
